Sundridge Location Page
Located in central Ontario is the small village of Sundridge. Sundridge is monitored by the Ontario Provincial Police. The Ontario Provincial Police issue provincial offence tickets (Provincial Offence Notices) and summonses to those who break provincial law. Provincial law comes from provincial statutes such as the Highway Traffic Act, the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act, the Cannabis Control Act, and the Liquor License and Control Act. Most provincial offences are issued by the Ontario Provincial Police during traffic stops at the roadside.
If you have been charged with an offence such as Speeding or Stunt Driving the first thing you need to know is that you have been charged only and you have not been convicted of anything. When you are charged, this means the officer who gave you the ticket or summons is alleging you committed an offence. You have, therefore, not been found guilty of anything at this stage.
The second thing you need to establish is if you have been given a ticket or a summons. Tickets are issued for less serious offence such as Improper Right Turns. A Summons is issued for more serious offences such as Operating a Vehicle with No Insurance. Tickets will indicate what offence you have been charged with, the fine associated with the charge, and will explain how to pay the ticket or dispute it. Keep in mind that paying the ticket is considered a guilty plea! Summons will include the same information but instead of showing a fine or explaining how to pay the summons there will be a date and time on the summons for which you must attend court. The summons is essentially summoning you to appear in court. On this court date you will then choose to dispute the charge or plead guilty. The Provincial Offence court is located at 14 Albert St North in Sundridge on the second floor of the Arena.
